What is my Fuel Injection System?

Fuel injectors play a vital role in delivering fuel into the combustion chamber of an engine with precision and efficiency. Over time, fuel injectors can become clogged or dirty due to fuel deposits, carbon buildup, and other contaminants. Cleaning fuel injectors involves removing these deposits to restore proper fuel flow and spray pattern.

Knowing when to clean the fuel injectors is a key factor in ensuring the system is maintained.

Look for the following issues with injectors:

–          Rough idling or engine misfires

–          Poor Fuel Economy

–          Hesitation or stalling during acceleration.

–          Increased exhaust smoke

–          Engine knocking or pinking sounds.

There are several ways to have the injectors cleaned.

You can do this yourself with a Fuel Injector Cleaner additive. This can be effective, but you are not able to be 100% sure this will clean all the contaminants from the injectors. This would be a quick fix.

If you are a mechanical person there is manual cleaning that can completed.  This is a long process of removing the injectors, soaking with scrubbing the injectors. Then reinstalling the injectors and testing the flow and function.

The recommended method of cleaning is to have a professional cleaning completed.  By calling and scheduling an appointment with your mechanic. They can do a professional cleaning service on the injectors. This ensures the contaminants have been cleared from the engine. After the cleaning they will be able to do a test to confirm that all the injectors are working at full capacity. If any further issues arise your mechanic is able to address them at that time.

Having routine maintenance on your fuel injectors will improve the engines performance, increase fuel efficiency, reduce emissions released into the environment, and prolong the life of the injectors.

We recommend having the professional service completed. With a professional service your mechanic can ensure that the life of your vehicle will be sustained longer.  This will also be noted in the records of your vehicles history to ensure resale value. As well as comply with a manufacture warranty you many have in place.
